Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions, honest answers

How is this really free?

Pinnie is covered by Traditional Medicare, the same way your doctor visits are covered. Medicare pays us to help you navigate your care, so there's no extra charge to you. No hidden fees, no surprise bills. If you have Traditional Medicare, you're eligible.

Will my doctor know about this?

Yes, and that's a good thing. Your advocate works alongside your doctors, not instead of them. We can share updates with your care team (with your permission) so everyone stays on the same page. Many doctors appreciate having an advocate involved because it means their patients are more likely to follow through on care plans.

What if I don't like my advocate?

We want you to feel comfortable with the person helping you. If it's not the right fit for any reason, just let us know and we'll match you with someone new. No hard feelings, no awkward conversations. The most important thing is that you have someone you trust.

How is this different from what my doctor already does?

Your doctor focuses on diagnosing and treating you during your appointments. But there's a lot that happens between appointments: dealing with insurance, coordinating prescriptions, finding specialists, understanding bills. That's where your advocate comes in. We handle the stuff that falls through the cracks so your doctor can focus on your health.

Can my family be involved?

Absolutely. Many of our patients have a family member who helps manage their care, and we love working with them. With your permission, your advocate can loop in your family members or anyone else you trust. They can join calls, get updates, and help make decisions together with you. You're always in charge of who's involved.

What happens if I need to go to the hospital?

Your advocate doesn't disappear when things get serious. That's when you need us most. If you're hospitalized, we can help coordinate with the hospital team, make sure your other doctors are informed, and help plan your transition home. We'll also help you understand any new medications or follow-up appointments before you leave.

How do I get started if I'm not good with computers?

You don't need a computer at all. Just call us at (929) 244-2339 and a real person will pick up. We can do everything over the phone: signing up, meeting your advocate, and getting help with your care. If you do want to use our website, your advocate or a family member can walk you through it. But the phone works just fine.
